You and I were lovers in a different time Rode that train to the end of the line Started so sweet and it ended so soon You said you would give me/ You said you would give me the moon Soft green grass in between my toes Running in the rain getting soaked to the bone Splashed in the current til the middle of the night Followed the river then the river ran dry Now I reminisce Have the time to sit and think You and I were lovers in a different time A chapter in a story in a book that is mine On a shelf in a room that is in my house Pick it up/ Dust it off/ Read it aloud To love is to change and to change is divine Divinity is sacred however defined Thank god I'm me and nobody else Thank god Thank god I'm me and nobody else
