Arrival of the void

The omens were written Laid there for those who want to see Whispers across the air The earth thunders under its advance Clouds gathered in ominous portent A night of freezing touch Beheld the arrival of the void Those who refused to see Were blinded forever The wind howling, the skies broke And the soul of men was stolen From that dread, under sulfur clouds Those of us who still had eyes Escaped from ruin As the skies wept at our backs Upon the spirit of men A suffocating shroud Without battle or resistance Freedom was taken away And the shackles perpetuate In the blackness of days Through paths in thorns We walked The grip of spiritual death We refused But still we ran away And heard the voice The calling from the stars Whispering: "Here be the sons of destiny" We are alive!
