Antithesis

A dull brick wall is staring back at me An old shag carpet hugs the floor Dusty plastic lines the lampshades Smoky curtains flank the door Its one more room, one more motel bed In one more tired oil town One more muffled conversation hits my ears Stoic stones don't make a sound I left my heart out on the east coast So if you see him take him in I'm sure he's cold without my body and my blood Without my skin to shield the wind I used to wear him on my sleeve when i was young We shared the sunshine and the rain But i don't wanna risk him out here in all this hail I doubt he'd ever be the same I doubt he'd ever be the same Another chair waiting on all fours A lonesome heater radiates Another mirror reflects on what it sees Another pillow suffocates Just one more room, one more hotel bed In one more wired coffee town One more movie pulls my mind away from you Relentless bricks staring me down I left my heart out on the east coast So if you see him wont you take him in I'm sure he's cold without my body and my blood Without my skin to shield the wind I used to wear him on my sleeve when i was young He loved the sunshine and the rain But i just couldn't bear to break him here in all this hail I'm sure he'd never be the same I'm sure he'd never be the same I doubt we'd ever be the same I know we'd never be the same
