Our Floating Bodies

We walked through the meadow and crushed all the petals with our shoes We lost the others cause we didn't bother to follow the rules We were chasing fireflies as we lost track of the sky This kind of comedy is always overdue We kept the rocks in our pockets So that we don't float off We kept the rocks in our pockets So that we don't float off We stumbled through the weeds and such but never got stuck We played a game of who could nab the most burrs We could hear our names being called through the forest walls But we'd never ever answer back We kept the rocks in our pockets So that we don't float off We kept the rocks in our pockets So that we don't float off As night grew tired the game was still inspired We'd never lose our grins To start the game was automatic The score through out all mathematics We took the rocks from our pockets So that we could float off We skipped the rocks all along the water And let our bodies float off together
