Face in the Crowd

Inhaling your every breath Reciting back your own poetry You said thank you for looking at me Thank you for letting me look at you Always waiting in lines, wasting my time To follow suit in cult mentality And fall on my knees and pray to your melodies When you look down and see my face in the crowd How do I look to you Am I a creator too If I were yours, would you be proud Or am I just another face in the crowd If I pack my bags and leave tonight Would you scream my name like I scream your name If I go and leave this all behind Would you scream my name echoed in a crowd alone on stage
