Roses

I been trying to tell you but I can never find A moment you are gonna listen to what's on my mind I really love you but you wanna push the pain away If we argue you don't ever wanna fight today We're leaving issues out to dry we're avoiding the rain We're finally wilting like a rose in an empty vase Cause all our problems turned too hard to ever face We're running now cause it's our pride that we gotta race I'm sick of running I really wanted to make us something I really thought we could make it if we just kept on pushing But either way I know you're tired I feel the same It sucks when compromising is a losing game I'm sick of waiting for a change I know is never coming Not cause you will never do it but cause I won't let you My independence no excuse to pretend I forgot you But your reliance scares me more than I will ever tell you I'm the problem I really thought I was ready for it Stepping back more times than we have ever gone forward I don't wanna change the person I know you are But this silence towards emotion's gone too far I hate basing a future solely off of potential Like promising another change on another condition Or hiding feelings in the fear of just how to deliver There's only tears on the roses that I let wither
