This Apathy

Once more, explore the depth beneath the skin Where all my pent up emotions exist I've walked this road for what feels like a thousand times, yet I can't resist We'll never be able to meet in the middle cause I'm too far gone All my beliefs amounting to nothing at all, but I've stuck to the martyrdom What's all this hatred about? I hope I'll figure this out This rage won't escape me This apathy will consume me if I let it roam free This apathy will consume me if I let it roam free I'm burning out, my conscience haunts me Senses lost in the darkness I will not be made a mockery Or have my convictions discarded Memories keep me off the path to destruction But, this familiar landscape still proves that I will always be alone What's all this hatred about?
