Familiarity

There's not much between my skin and bones Swear they've gotten sharper as I've grown And it's my own fault that fact is known I robbed my comfort all alone So when I lay on you with my body of stones And you tell me you love me in the kindest tone I wait patiently for you to groan But you won't I have my suspicions about why you keep me so close It has something to do with the foundation of your home My unpredictability Brings you familiarity So now, you find comfort in my bones I disappear from time to time I need space so I can walk the line Between life and death and then pick a side And I always end up on the right And you watch me gamble with my life And you brush my scars and let me keep my knife Cause you know stealing darkness won't show me the light And you know I'm not one to give up a fight I have my suspicions about why you keep me so close It has something to do with the foundation of your home My unpredictability Brings you familiarity So now, you find comfort knowing I'll go I'll pack up and leave just to come back again And I'll question how this doesn't f*ck with your head I see in black and white and in shades of red And I openly sing about wanting to be dead Yet you're still here You swear you won't disappear I think the end is near But for you, I'll make it wait A few years I have my suspicions about why you keep me so close
