scream of the crows

My sister's as pale as the snow And they say she smells like a rose She wasn't in any photos Her existence was barely known But their preference of me was all for show It was all about her when we got home Her and my parents were a trio While I occupied her shadow If she was sunlight to them I was faded afterglow That lesson was learned years ago Now it's been a few years and I've grown I left them and live on my own But I still hear her name in the scream of the crows And think who names their little girl blow My sister's as pale as the snow But I bet she doesn't smell like a rose
