Overcast (A Brighter Day)

Grey skies rolling in the morning light Cool wet air still hanging on The silence is only broken from the waking birds song And my slow shifting walk down the hallway Still echoes from the night's dream I had Blurry visions of what I thought to be true You would be normally making your ginger tea right now But the remains are only the space of you It will be alright The overcast skies will change Like the shadows moved by the light To a brighter day Lately I don't know where I'm going to If I am truthful, I don't think I ever really knew I would just write my life story in my head And in my heart, I would tell myself it was true We've got to reach out and take hold of our lives Life is but a day, make the world what we want to see Even if it is just a few steps, leaving no regrets Only the strong can trust going on to where they want to be It will be alright The overcast skies will change Like the shadows moved by the light To a brighter day
