The Hidden

In the ashes of blood stained roses, I lay covered beneath the sky Blanketed within the shelter, body and soul drifts into the why As the clouds roll by and voices speak, no truth in the existence of life Bleed my heart and rape my mind, feed me to the darkness tonight And as time goes by, drown the pain that kills my soul Words of wisdom speak to me, never again will I know As I walk through the fields of ice, the cold it burns my eyes A broken heart, a lonely man, once again I say good-bye Life was never easy, words failed to win the final round Through the haze of fire, I saw the emptiness that made no sound And as I watched within the flames, I saw me there once again The fields of roses all are black, what I saw was the end Laced with the blood of fear, inside it drowns my soul Eating the life like a cancer, forever devoted, never let me go Grow within the blackness, that buries me beneath the ground Gaze into the eyes of death, emptiness is all that's found And as I say farewell, to the life that I lived before I fear not the memories, I know they can't hurt me anymore Within these spoken words, the truth never makes a sound I walk with a rose in hand, in fire I can never drown The light of heaven, never before graced upon me Reflecting in the mirror, it's not my face I see And as I go down, one last time with the sin All that remains is the pain, from the hidden within
