My uncle sent a care package for when the world will end Filled with astronaut food I at least have a fighting chance He speaks in cryptic verses and nihilism but he looks just like my dad We're both just holding onto hope It's all that we've got left My best friend growing up is getting married in a month We don't talk anymore but I hope she's well She's got a nice apartment downtown A skyscraper with a view I suppose perspective influences what ya do The love of the life just wasn't meant for this lifetime He don't answer my calls anymore One day he'll be on the west coast In a cabin he built himself Baking blueberry scones from scratch Throwing stones and taking them back We're both just holding onto hope It's all that we've got left
