These Last Days of Summer

There's something I wish you could know Hanging onto things We can't let go These last days of summer are on my mind It's funny how these things can go Too many memories have gone by The months moved by us fast Now I'm wondering what to do September has come around All our friends are gone now And these days must come to an end These summer days aren't meant to last Autumn leaves are just around the bend I feel a chill in the air I find myself inching close to you The fragrant scent of harvest spice rising in the air The fire glows And shines in you brown eyes The cider umm warm and sweet So good to have you next to me The crunch of the frosty earth Beneath our feet as we walk along the way November has come around All our friends gathering now And Autumn days must come to an end These Autumn days aren't meant to last Winter snows are just around the bend I feel a chill in the air I find myself inching close to you I'm dreaming of summer once again And warm summers that have gone by
