You get up and out of your bed Then the thinking begins in your head That inner voice that whispers in your ear Just be your own authentic self It’s on you, not anyone else It may be hard to define… But just give it some time… Then you’ve gotta take action. Hey! That’s the key Let it go, release Clear your mind of the excess debris Then mend your heart with your mind, and see where it leads To be your own authentic self You can’t worry about anyone else But don’t sit back and wait, or it just won’t be Mere suggestions of what you could do But you really need to follow it through To find the will that you’ll need to feel free All those thoughts that you’re sorting through I mean, what are you going to do Talking about the choices that you’ll have to make Who you desire, and who you love If you believe in a god above I hope you find your truth to guide your way To be your own authentic self Search your soul, not some search address And then all you’ve got to do is believe And then all you’ve got to do And I hope that I’m getting through I say then all you’ve got to do, is you Just be your own authentic self Without judging anyone else And then all you’ve got to do Once again it’s all up to you To find the will that you’ll need to break free All you’ve gotta do - - - is do you!
