Can I Be Free?

I've been held here in this cage Tryna figure out what's going on Wish I could keep this out of my mind I've been a prisoner for far too long And every time I try to let it go Shake off the thoughts, and lose the desire Even though I know it's forbidden I tell myself That I will plan every night, my escape I will tell myself everything's okay And I know if I leave, leave one day I will break out free and find a way What if I'm wrong, they all seem so happy As if life can be beautiful Everybody has their part to play So maybe I should just play the game And if I just start going along Do all the things I'm supposed to do Hopefully I'll find some satisfaction This must be true I will plan every night, my escape I will tell myself everything's okay And I know if I leave, leave one day I will break out free and find a way If I can get outta here quickly Will I still have my life I know that there is something Better beyond this And now that the time is right To stop hiding in the dark of night It's got to be tonight And I've told myself I have planned every night, my escape And I've broken out now I've run away And I know that I'm free, free today I will just keep running, I'm on my way
