Adage (Interlude)

I have become lost in the strife Years pass in a moment as I reflect upon my sullen life The moon shines its light upon my face I laugh as if it were all a bad dream Cursed by the blood that flows through my veins I'm clinging to life, despite this pain My mangled flesh a brilliant feast for these ravenous beasts Betrayed by those said to cure this plague I fear we are damned to suffer Unless our eyes can be opened to a greater truth As my vision fades away and I become numb to the pain Am I free of this disease? Peaceful at last, but this nightmare It's time has not passed We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood Our eyes are yet to open Fear the Old Blood
