Only God can hold me, Love me, Feel me, Only God can… There's only one man in this life who can judge me One man who will never turn his back on me No matter how good things can be or how bad they can get And I'll never forget that Yeah I used to go and grab my phone when I was feeling anxious It was my way of passing time until I couldn't fake it Turned into puppets by society for entertainment But there's so much more to life than what they claim they gave us Now when I'm feeling down, you keep me elevated I talk to you cause when I do I feel less separated I only used to do it when in times of desperation But now I prove it with peace of mind and a little patience And when it ain't so easy, I think 'bout what you said Cause I was told to keep my head high and pray instead Especially when I can't see the road you paved ahead I trust when you say, "It'll all make sense in the end" I'll be more optimistic Cause since I've learned that, Life is precious And could be taken in just an instant but, That made me more persistent And that was my decision To be the man you knew I was regardless my position But now I close my eyes so I can see your vision I stopped looking for the signs and followed intuition Then I made it my mission To have less self-addiction Cause I'd do anything for you, that's part of my religion Only God can hold me, Love me, Feel me Only God can hold me, Love me, Feel me Yeah I used to blame you for everything that was wrong in life I never thanked you for the bad that was left out of sight Could not believe in what I couldn't see Then I took your advice and now I understand the sacrifice But isn't that the point? To believe in believing I dedicate my life to you because it gives me meaning And that's the only reason That I can fight my demons You showed me what it means to dream, then kept my dreams from dreaming I used to speak to Jesus, then use his name in vain I thought if I was hurting, no one else would feel my pain Just to realize me and him, we're not far from the same So now I thank him every single time I hear his name (Thanks) This life was not expected And no longer suggested You never know your own power until it's disconnected You never know that you're lost until you find the lesson I give you all the praise, just not all the credit But I don't think you get it How you expect to wear a cross and go to church, Say a prayer, just to then forget it I think you missed the message, a common misconception That's how you end up down in hell, that ain't the way to heaven Only God can hold me, Love me, Feel me Only God can hold me, Love me, Feel me
