About a hundred miles out of nowhere Picked up a girl with her thumb in the air She climbed up my cab and when she got inside She said I'm Destiny thanks for the ride I was waiting on this lonely highway It was starting to rain I was starting to pray She didn't say much but when she spoke She was headed back home to see her folks Then her eyes welled up with tears She hadn't been home for fifteen years She'd done some things told some lies Then she hung her head and closed her eyes Right then and there it occurred to me Everyone plays a little part in destiny If I've become part of Destiny's plan Fate must have dropped her right here in my hands The rain was bouncing off my truck The sound of the wipers must have woke her up She asked how long she was asleep I laughed and told her about a week She said that's not true because I can see I'm just a little closer than I used to be I drove three hundred miles in the rain that day Dropped her off on her folks driveway And to this day it's hard to explain But they were all standing out in the rain Holding each other forgetting the past Destiny was home at last Once again it occurred to me Everyone plays a little part in destiny If I've become part of Destiny's plan Fate must have dropped her right here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands Destiny here in my hands
