For What I Am

As I look around the sun is going down Shadows fill the ground, and there's no one here Where are they now, where have they gone These friends of mine Things are different now than they were then I had money and lots of friends They were only hangin' round for a good time Someday I will find a true, true friend Someone who will take me for what I am Once I had a girl I thought she was my world And I was so in love with her But she only stayed while times were good For when things got bad I found that all I had Was what I once had started with I couldn't give her everything she thought I should Someday I will find someone to love me Someone who will take me for what I am Now that I am grown I find I'm still alone And yet I haven't found what I've been looking for Nowhere have I found someone to care But someday I'll find a girl who sees my mind And I will know when I've met her I'll turn around and I will see her standing there And then Ill know I found someone to love me Someone who will take me for what I am And then I'll know I found someone who needs me Someone who will take me for what I am
