Fallen Sparrow

I saw the sparrow fall Above the world so small And all the games that we played On summer Saturdays And on Mondays we wait While politicians debate I turn on the news To feel my ego bruised Someone came with the mail But the butler dropped it in the well I dove in but the well was dry Hit the sand and started to cry I saw the sparrow fall Above the world so small I dove to stop the crash And caught some laughing gas I just sit and wait Trying to hesitate The sweat rolls down my back A new heart attack Got on the phone to make a call Trying to reach the other side of this wall Colored beans and a magic vine I found the top wasn't so high But it was high enough To make me stay awhile Smile they say cause everything's going to be all right But whats all right for you You see may not be all right with me Tonight I write These words in a blur So that I I might be heard I saw the sparrow fall Above the world so small From far a song was heard Of which I knew no words
