There's a crow on the steeple The dog's in the yard He moans and he barks He's spreading the news All the lonely people Hear as he wails From his snout to his tail He's got them dog gone blues Well he had him a bitch She ran off and left him By now there's no telling Where she got to He just keeps howling At a cold bitter moon He won't be in soon He's got them dog gone blues Well I rise from my slumber Outside he's still wailing I curse at the ceiling And put on my shoes I grab his leash and his collar A walk might do him some Good but he won't come He's got them dog gone blues No telling how long He'll keep moaning his song I guess as long as He's got them dog gone blues
