Barl Ives (usually spelled Burl Ives) was an American folk singer, actor, and author. He is best known for his rich bass-baritone voice and his numerous folk and Christmas songs, such as "A Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Big Rock Candy Mountain." Ives gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s as one of the leading figures of the American folk music revival. Additionally, he appeared in several films and television shows throughout his career. |
