If it came to me and I had the choice I'd put more grit in my voice I'd sound earthy, I'd sound wiser I would gain the trust of eardrums I would charm the scoffing masses And the praise would be a geyser But what a youthful want it is to be so liked, to be so liked And though I know it's not the best for me I like To be so But my songs are just too simple And they sound like all the others I'm not breaking any boundaries But at least I hope this translates to your life, to your own life: That the point of living's not to just be liked Although it's nice
