Alone, defeated Skin lacerated by ice As if sliced by knives Experiencing anguish in isolation Enshrined in snow at elevation A summit; a sarcophagus My demise met with eyes wide open Frozen staring at the sun Becoming one with the hand of god A mortal separation Funeral bereft of buzzards A procession at the peak My corpse serving as a headstone Shivering to death In this alpine tomb Never to rest In this alpine tomb
