Two steps in, waves crash at the feet Eyelids squint, someone said there was a reef Sun’s getting low, fire burns across the sky No one’s in sight no one cares if you die So close now you can almost hear their calls Waist-deep, black water rips down your walls Can’t fight the tide and no point in turning back Head under waves, something’s coming from the black Wake up to sirens every night Each time I wonder if they’re mine When will they be mine When will they be mine Hair like weeds silver streaks down your skin Mouth of needles tear apart in a grin Milky eyes, you can’t look away now Sand stirred up lose sight in the grim cloud Inhaling the drink wonder why you’re still sinking Rain on the windows, this room is freezing Can’t swim up and can’t swim back No lights, no maps Inhale, exhale fills your chest No chance of escape now, you’re obsessed The shadows in your room match the dirt on your soles Arms cover yours nothing left to withhold Night fades away no trail for them to see This is the end, what was that about a reef The depths are fathomless , the trench is vast Snow falling on a caravel mast Wake up to sirens every night Each time I wonder if they’re mine When will they be mine When will they be mine
