For a long time I been stretching my mind Trying to find some new sounds And some words that rhyme At times it can be tiring But I can truly see Something bright in my future Gives me hope that allows me to be Content taking a day off Every now and again Relax and watch some videos Spin a couple albums and then Try and write a few bars And make a couple more beats So someday my kids Won't be living on the streets That's all that I really need Out of this life Don't need my music to go real far Just something to afford some spice A couple pennies in change Can really make my day When most days my bank account Is drier than some California rain Breaking my back Just to make a few bucks With my music out there I can make it with some luck Yeah, yeah Talent really comes With the price of your life Whether it be sleep or your mind You gotta sacrifice Just to take the time To arrange the lines And bring a whole project together Just to push it online It can take a long time But if you're true to your mind You'll find people will really Connect with your lines Just take it a little slower And you can finally grow From a blossoming flower To a garden of your own You gotta trust your intuition Even if someone comes up dissing At the end of the day Who cares about their opinions Cause if you're doing it for you And truly do it on your own The art will speak for itself Don't doubt the story you hold Just gotta take things As they come and go Nothing lasts forever If you don't want it to be so For the past few months I been feeling myself slide Whether it's up or down There's no idea in my mind But making all these songs Finally got me to see That even in the darkness There's a light deep within me It's within you too You just gotta take the time To find it in yourself Then you can finally shine You can finally shine
