We all start out green Then from Orange into Brown Then we all Leaf Dive Face first to the ground Leaf Dive That's how we know we were alive Leaf Dive Let go of safety and fly while we die In an ocean of space In an ocean of time We don't have much of either So we all wait in line For the next chance to dive Free fall like asteroids Through a whole list of voids Just the next hex in the hive The next hex on a boy Who became a wrinkled old man Before the paint even chipped on his toys Now we all lay scattered In little piles on the ground Ridin through our memories While the wind throws us around We all start out green Then from Orange into Brown Then we all Leaf Dive Face first to the ground Leaf Dive That's how we know we were alive Leaf Dive Let go of safety and fly while we die I'm here in this jeep With a mouth full of dust Thinking how I am this Jeep I just bought And one day I'll just be a pile of rust Walkin round in these Aspen trees Looking at my young son Thinking how one day my grandkids Will be crunching away walking right on top of me when I'm done Seasons will change from Spring into Summer From Arizona heat into Monsoons of Lightning and Thunder Seasons will change from Summer to Autumn When all us old withered leaves float like angels right down to the bottom We all start out green Then from Orange into Brown Then we all Leaf Dive Face first to the ground Leaf Dive That's how we know we were alive Leaf Dive Let go of safety and fly while we die
