Lobotomy

If you decide to inscribe my theories in books Write it down with vanishing ink There's a difference between my lobotomy And consuming one too many drinks I don't want to remember what's mine anymore I only want thoughts drawn from you For the home that I once tried to make for myself Began to swallow me up as a tomb I held my loved one and watched her depart And sorrow rolled in like a cloud But liquors for losers and not broken hearts And my face doesn't favor a frown If I'm hungry for fruit I must first grow the tree And my heart is turned over and tilled I gave up the grape that my tongue might be clean For my mind to find strength and be filled Yet heaven was silent and God disappeared As sorrow was testing my heart The sinking, the swimming, the walking on water As I end where the Lord takes His start I see years teaching ears to be open and listening So repetition will say it again Liquors a liar for weak hearted sissies Masquerading as though it's a friend There no life in all of my living There's no strength in the strength of a man When having it all turns to nothing Mercy brings my world to an end
