Shallow Waters

Made me walk the plank 'Cause they said I'm a liar But I learned how to swim I was fighting to live So they turned to the stake And they set me on fire I don't know who I am anymore I'm on a shore in a dangerous war I don't look the same Talk to me Why don't I fight more to breathe? I am hurt Underwater My eyes have shut I'm not at war If I don't throw up my gun I died in the shallowest parts of the waters You thrived in the deepest of rivers I asked for a hand and you threw me a boulder And watched as I fell under I'm already sinking But I do not cry out loud They were never listening The water silenced my sounds They try to hate me more than I do I yelled out, "You can try, but you'll lose."
