The Sun / Shadows

Light is strong and slow It's a radiant shot from the sky Engines strain and branches bow Some place else it looks like gold Around the Colorado mountains A velvet silk flies through the air Blowing curtains wide open And it's free peace to those who care The Sun hid behind its shadows The crow showed shadows could fly Where I'm goin, I'm goin crazy It's shadows that're on my mind Purple clouds mount the horizon Just as high as they can To all the world it was a mountain And it held its place till dawn The leaves of fall are all gone now They went off with the wind To see if heaven is westward To try to understand The Sun hid behind its shadows The crow showed shadows could fly Where I'm goin, I'm goin crazy It's shadows that're on my mind The birds are singing in the snow They never seem to mind A day's a day, a couple hours To see the world again A little harm won't hurt no one If we all share the blame So light me up until tomorrow Until then I can't feel the pain The Sun hid behind its shadows The crow showed shadows could fly Where I'm goin, I'm goin crazy It's shadows that're on my mind
