Autumn Gold

In the morning when it's dark I rise early to get a start I turn my ear to the quiet I find comfort in the silence Sometimes the sun comes before I'm ready I hear the sparrow sing soft and steady I get dressed and go to work I try to find the value and the worth I walk hallways and pray for patients grateful for the conversations When the sun sets and I leave I drive in golden light and pray for peace I see the autumn colors I am the autumn gold thats drifting, falling from the tree I see gold buried inside I will not be afraid when it dies
