He said I know you better than you Your words reshaped no longer true. A pawn in the tale he so neatly designed Lost in the lines where truth's undefined. You dreamed of flight he whispered "No" The sky's too high it's not where you'll grow. A golden cage was all you could see Freedom reduced to a forgotten plea. Each time you resisted his voice grew sweet A lullaby laced with soft deceit. "For your good" he'd say and you'd comply Trapped in the echo of a crafted lie. You reached for help but no one could see He loves you so just let it be. With silent tears you wore a smile Loneliness wrapped your heart all the while. You might ask Does he love me true? Perhaps he does but controls you too. His need for power outweighs his care And leaves you broken in despair. His love might seem like it's enough But it's the chains that make it rough. Will you keep pleasing him you see Or choose to finally set you free? Love should be wind that lifts you high Not chains that bind or make you sigh. Left behind the lies that stole your role. You rose anew your spirit whole.
