c-blanch photograph şarkı sözleri
Holding on to you when my time runs out
We'll be in a different story
Watching over you even when I'm gone
It's not my fault but I'm still sorry
It's a long way, but you're gonna laugh
Like you used to when I took this photograph
I will fade away when the sun goes down
You're not alone cause I'll be holding on
I take a step back, look up in the sky
Think about the time that I had you in my life
Lived 96 years, full of happiness and cheers
And I'm so damn grateful that I had you by my side
Cause you're a class act and you're such a fighter
You were the bond, that held us tighter
Now you're gone, lets raise a lighter
To the lives you touched, you made them brighter
You took care of your body, took care of your fam
And I got enough material I could write a whole book
Instead I'll say thanks, thanks for how you lived, thanks for all you did and the sacrifice it took
You're the last of a generation, dying nation, no elation, now I gotta make it, got no time to kill
Luckily I got your daughter, mom to me, to guide us on through, she a legend for real
Holding on to you when my time runs out
We'll be in a different story
Watching over you even when I'm gone
It's not my fault but I'm still sorry
It's a long way, but you're gonna laugh
Like you used to when I took this photograph
I will fade away when the sun goes down
You're not alone cause I'll be holding on
Made it through the long nights, bombing in the 40s
Saw your mother pass in your arms, just a teen
Man of the house, so you had to get the green
Standout engineer, first class, first team
Built up a family then left the UK, man I even got the clipping right here
Traditional man, putting in the work, took em' all camping and never showed fear
Then when grandma was sick never let her leave your side
And that really stuck with me in a generation lost
Cause we've really gone soft, really lost touch
Losing sight of stepping up when our times are getting tough
But of everything I've learned to be a man of your word
Stick to your guns, always put your love first
In life there's a lesson, life with you was a blessing
Say hi to grandma when you see her up in heaven
Holding on to you when my time runs out
We'll be in a different story
Watching over you even when I'm gone
It's not my fault but I'm still sorry
It's a long way, but you're gonna laugh
Like you used to when I took this photograph
I will fade away when the sun goes down
You're not alone cause I'll be holding on
