Epistle to Philemon

O brother, once a slave in chains, Yet now in Christ, a son remains. No past may bind, no debt may claim, For love has called thee by His name. Not law, nor wrath, nor man's decree, But mercy writes thy liberty. Chains undone, the captive free, Love has called, and grace decrees. Not as before, but now as thine, A brother true in Christ divine. O master, now thy hands release, What Christ has bound, let love increase. Not out of force, nor out of fear, But in the Lord, hold mercy near. Not law, nor wrath, nor man's decree, But mercy writes thy liberty. Chains undone, the captive free, Love has called, and grace decrees. Not as before, but now as thine, A brother true in Christ divine. O debt is paid, the price is met, Another stands to clear the debt. As Paul for him, so Christ for thee, The ransom sealed eternally. O break the chains of pride and sin, Let love restore, let grace bring in. For all in Christ are one the same, No slave, no free, no wealth, no name. So brother, now, let love embrace, Receive as one whom Christ has graced. For once was lost, but now is found, The bond of peace, in mercy bound. Chains undone, no more a slave, But one in Christ, restored and saved.
