Maybe the floor fell beneath me Maybe the tunnel is dim And now I'm surrounded by empty book pages I thought would be covered in pen Maybe I cry a bit more often now Maybe I've lost some friends And I don't fit into all the old places I seamlessly inhabited I know a poet and a philosopher I know painter A writer of songs you've heard We all sit at the same table now And grapple with things no one really knows how I know a poet and a philosopher I known a dreamer A sculptor of marble works They all tell me no battle is won-der about it all The limit is the vision Maybe I'm missing the warmth of The crackling fire behind And I'm getting closer To the sun and it's light Maybe I'm misunderstanding This feeling in my chest Maybe you're right I could be wrong But this is my best guess I know a poet and a philosopher I know painter A writer of songs you've heard We all sit at the same table now And grapple with things no one really know how I know a preacher I know a guru I know a rabi A bishop, a monk, and you We all sit in the same sun Breathe the same air And feel the same love I know a poet and a philosopher I known a dreamer A sculptor of marble works They all tell me no battle is won-der about it all The limit is the vision
