Pink Nights

Have you ever noticed how the sky turns pink And glows so well after the sun has sunk away With wisps of clouds still lingering along We're left with one last gift at the close of the day I've heard a secret passed around by birds They all say that you scream in your sleep But I've watched you in the night, you look so serene Still, I suppose such secrets are still hard to keep Let's stay up all night, all through the pitiful night We can sleep soundly in the morning I'll try to remember the placement of the stars And ignore each astrological warning I'm crying next to you during asteroid impacts I'm held by your corpse-like arms We're all going to die at the end of the earth But here I'll be safe from harm
