I'm sorry momma For all the anger that I felt And all the drug talk but those were dealings that I dealt I'm sorry momma I had to let out the truth Or all of my positive intentions would be completely misconstrued I'm sorry momma For the women I've objectified I have no excuse for that but that's why I've been so teary-eyed I'm sorry momma If you don't get what I'm saying Just let me take a minute to explain First of all I want you to know that none of this is your fault And honestly, who could have predicted any of this shit at all But I want to tell you the truth And I want them to know too Not to glorify it Just so people know that they could take my word and try it Cause a lot of people preaching peace but they don't know what that means Cause they ain't seen the other side and they don't know that their grass is greener See I ain't seen the pearly gates but my brother said it ain't worth the hype I lost him three years ago but we still talk every night I keep telling myself Well that couldn't be me But those the same damn words that put that tag on your feet And thrown up in a body bag I know this thought is foreign to you but I hope that you understand That my past ain't that scenic Oh momma I've seen it But I'm only so damn strong cause you made me believe it And I ain't numb anymore I can finally feel And that's probably why all of this shit feels so damn unreal Plus I'm still dealing with some traumas Jt just got shot And that's my brother momma Tom was there too He got hit in the chest I'm still praying for my brothers and I wish them the best But that could've been me And I ain't telling you this in person cause I really don't have the nerve I just hope you end up hearing this and taking in every word Cause I understand now And I hope you can too I hope you can too
