Forlorn Paradise

I know it's just another day alone In the perpetual rains Filled with all the city's smoke It's been ages since the last time That the rain turned into snow Now the sky's lit up by spotlights And that's all I've ever known Now the Cybernetic Age Is actually something quite distant But the nature here's metallic And there's no real way to fix it The machines, they pull me under And they remind me of home As the holographics render I feel I'm not alone But I wouldn't know I feel That nothing in this city's real The elites are without faces And the people are surreal It doesn't happen quickly But our souls turn into steal Some would say that they're okay But that something I don't feel If I noticed my surroundings In this dystopian wasteland Would I find it all astounding? Would I desire to change them? Really it's all normal Computer anthropology But is it wrong to dream of more Than cyberpunk philosophy? Well let me Try to summarize as I Try to stay alive so I can See the sun rise But I never ever hope too much I'm gonna Try to compromise but it's So computerized, it's just a Forlorn paradise that I'm keeping to myself So I won't know
