Light the Lanterns

Let us go again and face the dusk, the sunfall, At the edges where the waters lick the mud, Light the lanterns let them float across, When the night has fallen and the stars are out Let the light burn through the ancient night, Let the fires turn to ashes what we are not, Then the lights will flicker on and off, We will let go of the pieces that we have lost Let the waters claim the ash and dust of us, Let the image in the waters reveal to us what we are, Now we stand again to face our minds, We'll build a cemetery where the ancients lie
