No I won't forget the night that both my parents died Most would run off scared and hide, terrified, but I stood there paralyzed I stared with eyes that couldn't comprehend what they were seeing I watched their lives get taken by another human being Needing explanation or a reason for the deed that killed them The ones who got them run through Gotham calling themselves villains Ill intentions at the circus, murder right under the big top Used to flying through the air and then they took the big drop The police told me that the reason they're deceased is cuz The owner of the circus refused money to some thieves so Sabotage, they turned and burned the acid through the ropes When my folks went to swing instead of holding strong it broke First came commissioner Gordon followed by the coroner Then reporters wanting stories pushing me into a corner Next morning I'm eating porridge with other poor kids in the orphanage While the much less fortunate forage around for nourishment My core existence was revenge on those that did this But I just was not equipped with tools to carry out my mission Then like an answer to my wishes it would seem A billion dollar man pulled up inside a limousine Out stepped a butler not a man of many words He shook my hand and said his name is Alfred Pennyworth Now come with me young master everything has been arranged You've just become a member of the family known as Wayne As the year went by I learned to hone my skill and train With a mentor and protector who could understand my pain And he taught me how to take the things I'm scared of and reverse them Because fear is something that you need to harness or it worsens Yo my acrobatic practice and my talents with backflips had just happened To match well with all the gadgets and tactics My grappling hook had me looking just like a true vigilante And all the tools on my utility belt do come in handy That candy coated Metropolis ain't no match for this Gotham City Round here they take hostages, lock them in cages, drop them quickly But swiftly we save them and then we swing them to safety Jumping out of burning buildings bringing mothers their babies When these villains get violent confine them in the asylum I am the silent assailant I sail in with perfect timing Untying scandalous damsels all in distress and ripped dresses It's nothing that I can't handle plus I'm impressive with weapons No longer the lonely orphan messed with and desperate Reborn in a mighty form I'm a force to be reckoned with In the storm when the lightning strikes you thought you saw my silhouette And I'm sworn to be fighting crime while kids my age are still in bed I'll drop down from a ceiling vent, I'll dive off of a building ledge I'll fly off in the dark of night, and my partner's the darker knight We bring hope like a spark of light, I'll answer the alarm of a diamond heist But not before disarming the dynamite When the time is right he said he's starting a league He asked me if I'd join I said man I'm just a teen Besides I'm tight with some titans I think we're forming a team I get this frightening excitement like this is all in a dream I mean Robin Boy Wonder, fighting villains and common crooks It makes a boy wonder is this real or a comic book When that rope snapped maybe I was the one that fell I'll never go back if this is heaven it's fun as hell And someone else might not have turned out the way I did Could've been an angry kid all alone doing crazy shit With gangsters and criminals that rob banks for a living That's why I'm thankful and grateful for all the gifts I've been given That's why I won't forget the night when both my parents died Made me what I am inside, and I fight every night to set it right And if I could change what happened I would But I can't so I'll just keep trying my best to do good
