My sin was pride And the wage of pride was death My sin was wrath And the wage of wrath was death My sin was sadness And the wage of sadness was death My sin was grief And the wage of grief was death I wallowed in grief and anger Until I saw my mind in bonds Forged in loathing, disgust and haw And rage was all I had I wandered in grief and anger Until I locked myself in golden bonds Freed of time, duties and charge And rage was all I had Yet then all words were hollow Promises left in a corner I collected my sins Like glowing shards of glass The brighter the colour The stronger the sin When all this is done And I drift away in peace I will remember not The noise of soaring orders But the stunning silence Of your mouth And the crushing weight Of your mind My sin was pride And the cost of pride Ought to be death My sin was rage And the cost of rage Ought to be death My sin was sadness And the cost of sadness Ought to be death My sin was grief And the cost of grief Ought to be death
