Like a Broken Flag

The darkness lifted me And dropped me to a place Where all my choices Were guided by elusive voices Where all my thoughts were planted By the same evil hands That painted the world black Every time I blink my eyes I wake up in a loud place In a place that I had never seen before Every time I open my eyes I wake up in a strange place A place that I had never seen before I need to find a quiet place I need to take a little time I need to heal up I need to be fine I need to find a better place I need to save whatever life they left me I need to be Where they've got no claim on me This is not the life I would have chosen This is not the place I would have chosen This is just A cruel and bitter life This is just another thing that makes me cry This is just a miserable hole in the ground This much I know When the darkness strikes again I'll waive around Like a broken flag Prey to a wind That doesn't even know I exist There is a world of light Waiting for me When I get better I can see it But I don't know How to reach it
