My Will

Leaf in a storm Anywhere the wind blows I drift Ropes at my joints Commanded like a toy I nod Blood in stone veins water in a sand cup I flow Rugs over my shoulders I walk Whatever I may sow So shall I reap Against my will Whatever I may say So shall I listen Against my will Wherever I may go So shall I stumble Against my will Wherever I may cave in So shall I sink Against my will Is this what life demands of me ? Was I supposed to see The carvings on the stone ? Was I supposed to see The little stains on others' walls ? Because that is exactly What your world has made me May the time cleanse my eyes Of the evil they have seen Of the anger left within Of all the good things left undone Of all the bad things still to come And when I finally set foot Back on solid ground I'll see to it I'll see to it all
