Calm Within The Storm

Raindrops on my windowpane Lightning strikes and thunder rolls again Seems as though, the rain will never go away People rush through busy days Unaware of moments slipped away Too much on their minds For them to find The calm within the storm SO when the big things seem like they're too much Don't forget the small things can cheer you up The setting sun on a red brick wall Perfect preserves gleaming on the shelf so tall The smell of fresh baked bread Strawberries so red The cherry blossoms when they're in full bloom Catching your eye across a crowded room The innocent smiles of a father and his tiny child at play So if it seems like I don't care It's cause I don't want to be a millionaire I'd rather spend my time Trying to find The calm within the storm And when the world feels like it's closing in on me I'll slow right down so that I can see..... A tiny tabby purring peacefully Golden wheat as far as the eye can see Children singing songs Maybe I can sing along I will pause to take a look At the old couple holding hands Or the cover of my favorite book I'll be fine, if I stop to find the calm within the storm.
