Softly she speaks the tale That the pictures tell as she reads to herself Gently she lays her head As she falls asleep books at her feet And I wonder what magic fills head As she dreams in her tiny bed Soon she'll wake and she'll call my name Let's go play, dreaming's done for today Eagerly she asks and learns and excitedly shows what she already knows Greatly her spirit grows As she laughs and jokes and wrinkles her nose And I wonder what magic fills head As she dreams in her big girl bed Soon she'll wake and be off to school Let's go play and work for the day
