So I Go Dancing

I go to work, I feel my day slipping away Doing nothing, feeling nothing Another day of living life for someone else Getting nothing for myself I try to cope, I watch the time pass and I hope for a future Something better I sit and pray tomorrow brings a better day There's no way it could be worse I walk outside, the sun's already down I try to call my friends but no one's around My rent is late, fifty dollars to my name Maybe spending it will make me feel sane So I go dancing to block out the darkness And to forget about the day that I had I close my eyes and I pray that tomorrow won't be as bad I use the music to brighten the night time 'Cause when I'm dancing I forget to feel scared And if I'm lucky when I come back outside the sun will be there I lay in bed, I don't know how to clear my head I need something that can calm me A place where I can close my eyes and maybe find Something louder than my mind I spend all week just waiting for when I can dance 'til I feel human again A pitch black room is where I'll have release By the speakers maybe I can find peace So I go dancing to block out the darkness And to forget about the day that I had I close my eyes and I pray that tomorrow won't be as bad I use the music to brighten the night time 'Cause when I'm dancing I forget to feel scared And if I'm lucky when I come back outside the sun will be there"
