I Hung My Heart Out On The Line

I reached my hand out to you, love At a time when I was sinking deep in the Earth But your hand I never found Each tick tock tick I slowly submerged And the light it disappeared As my lungs filled up with liquid Oh, how it hurt As my last breaths left my lungs And I slipped out of consciousness There you were I hung my heart out on the line In hopes that it would guide you here Next to me I hung my heart out on the line But it seems like you're enjoying roaming Be free I'm lying still Arms full of lines To keep me fed And help me heal from this hurt And my heart is on decline From being buried un-der Tons of dirt And my bodies wracked with pain And none of these pain killers seem to work As I'm looking at my veins And I'm wondering if I should put in the work I hung my heart out on the line In hopes that it would guide you here Next to me I hung my heart out on the line But it seems like you're enjoying roaming Be free I know that God is by my side I left him but yet He never left me He saved my wretched soul Restored my life And then He told me be free As my soul escaped its pod It looked back once Then its' pod went to sleep As I bid this world farewell And prepare to fall into this Earth ever deep
