When the Sun Goes Down

Last night I spoke to my younger self And I told him what's to come I said we're bigger now, and you're doing well But I don't think he knew know who I was He asked what happened to us Where did all the years go Why did you hurt my soul I said I'm sorry, you didn't know How it feels waking up tomorrow I tried to make him understand That we don't get another try He looked at me and held out his hand And he told me that it's gonna be just fine He lied I don't wanna be unhappy When the sun goes down I lost myself somewhere among the crowd And I swear someday I will figure it out But for now It's just all too loud So I'll stay up until the sun goes down We talked for hours about our lives He had just got to fifth grade His days were slower, his life untouched By my falters of yesterday Oh, and I told him Don't live your life in vain But oh, it was worthless Cause I did it anyway He told me that he had to go His friends were calling out his name He said until I need some words of hope I guess I'll wait for you another day I don't wanna feel so busy When I come back home I just wanna be in my bedroom alone One day I'll win my battle against time So please can I Just close my eyes And listen to the world go on outside
