Blue Then Green

I find I often wonder why Why I feel the way I feel inside So I dive into the ocean of my mind Hold my breath and open up my eyes And when I finally reach the bottom of it Reach out and grab a whole fistfull of All these things that hold me back Swim up to the surface and watch them drift Out of my hand to try and understand Why'm I Always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) I find I'm always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) Like the ocean always in between (Ahhh) Why'm I always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) No it's not always up to me I'm easily affected by my surroundings And though I feel at times I've tried everything What I need to do is the hardest to bring myself to do and I'm Going in circles I'm swimming down the drain Tryna find a way to mask my own Pain from myself but it never works Shedding my tears again they're spilling from my hands Into the sand to try and understand Why'm I Always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) I find I'm always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) Like the ocean always in between (Ahhh) Why'm I always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) This morning I got wet as I watched the sun set On the horizon of the 6am Pacific-North-West And while the clouds burned behind me with the birds overhead A dolphin rose a foot in front of me and in my mind had said Be grateful for the ways in which your life will undulate And never underestimate the beauty of the wait All that patience cultivated is a virtue of the great So go embrace your fate Yeah I'm Always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) I find I'm always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) Like the ocean always in between (Ahhh) I know why I'm always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh) Life won't always end up so serene (Ahhh) And that's the way it's alway meant to be (Ahhh) Can't see the highs without the lows it seems (Ahhh) And that's why I'm always blue and then I'm green (Ahhh)
