Ol' Moe's Po' Boy

I've been living my life in a house full of grief Got a mean old swamp woman and there ain't no relief One night I done asked her for a small po' boy treat She replied"Are you crazy boy? You could stand not to eat!" Now for all you kind folks who don't live near the swamp There's some critters out there and they run and they romp But I got a friend there, and he's green and he's slow A fifteen foot gator and I call him Ol' Moe! So I called on my gator, Ol' Moe knows her nerve! I said"Come in the kitchen, boy, 'cause dinner is served!" Ol' Moe walks on in with his big gator grin And swallows that woman - took all of her in! Now don't thank me rash, child, this built up a while That woman had ways of erasing my smile! She'd stomp and she'd holler, and she'd curse out my name! That girl called me lazy and she'd beat me all day! So I called on my gator, so wise and so bold I said"Come on in, boy, or your meal will get cold!" He took one long look and then ended that fight Now it's time for some po' boys, gonna be a good night! Now the swamp sings low, as the night mist rolls in Moons on the bayou and the bullfrogs begin I ain't making just one po' boy, you know I made two So I hands one to Moe, he grins as he chews! So I called on my gator, a brother bestowed! Said Ol' Moe you're my kin from the depths down below Now be on your way boy, but come back real quick Her mama's here Sunday. I'll see you at six! Yeah, life's funny but it sure worked out right A po' boy tastes better with hot sauce and a whole lot of quiet!
